I've been to Goa six times now but never been over Xmas before. Because of work commitments will have to go this year departing between 15th - 18th December for 2 weeks. However, everything seems to be around twice the price of any other time of the year.
I was thinking of leaving it late to book and was wondering if anyone else has done the same for this period and found that prices do drop nearer the time.
In my experience prices don't come down much for the 2 weeks over Christmas but can come down quite a bit for the 2 weeks immediately before. We went 2 years ago for 2 weeks and flew back Christmas day. We paid £300 each. This year we want to be there right over Christmas and New Year so booked early and paid considerably more (though was quite pleased at £600 each for 3 weeks). 
If you can book last minute there is usually good discounted flights and packages. There's not much on offer at the moment only the inertia selling.
one word of warning if you are going over christmas.....BUSY!!!
