The best resort for your needs is Costa Adeje although unfortunately it may be reflected in the price. Most of the higher quality hotels are located here and the accompanying cost is a bit higher than in the rest of town. There are a few lower priced alternatives about depending on what your budget actually is.

There are an abundance of lower priced accommodations here but its no less quality resort. Quieter than the middle of PDLA and much more civilised with a huge golden beach as opposed to the volcanic beaches scattered around the rest of the area. Lots of narrow windy streets full of restaurants and shops with a decent scattering of bars too.

Where you probably need to avoid is Playa de Las Americas. The resorts of Fanabe,Costa Adeje, Torviscas used to all be bracketed under the PDLA umbrella for tourism and brochure purposes however over the last few years they have created their own identity in order to distance themselves from the

image which is prevalent in PDLA centre

On the other hand La Caleta,Golf del Sur, Playa Paraiso Los Gigantes may be a touch quiet.

Depending on your budget you may be better doing a DIY holiday. Travel Agents know the alternatives are limited in winter and price the Canaries accordingly.

You should be able to get a week for 2 from as low as £350 or a fortnight from around £650 and obviously upwards depending on the airports you use and the standard of accommodation you choose.

Try not to scrape the bottom of the barrel on the accomodation side though. Its worth a few extra pounds to stay in a "nicer" place

There are 2 areas which i would think that you would like.

The is the area by the Santiago 3 complex. There are some lovely apts in this area, with a big great beach, and a nice walkway along the beach front to Los Cristainos.
Also there are some fab bars, there are the older type of bars which have entertainment on in an evening. The strip under the parque de la paz, and the patch, which is a bit run down but again some top bars.
Also there are some lovely new bars in the safari shopping center, these are top bars, drinks are a bit more expensive here but the surroundings are brilliant.
Restaurants in the area, there is the excellent mama rossas which is a bit more expensive than a restaurant but has a great choice of food.
Then you have your all you can eat chinese and indian restaurants. And on the sea front there are some nice restaurants that you can dine at and see the sea. Then you have Daniels and the Los Angeles which have music on whilst you eat. This area is popular and has recentley had a lot of money spent on the roads.

Then you have the costa adeje area which is nice but for me it is a bit to quiet. Also it is where the lovely new 4* hotels are based, and i think that this reflects the price. As i find that the bars in the bottom end of Costa Adeje can be much quiter on a night.

But there is always the san eugino area to stay in, which is the beginning of costa adeje. It has the harbour at puerto colon which again has loads of restaurants and bars. Also at the eugino junction there is the brilliant san euginos bar, temple bar, pheasant plucker, i could go on. The prices in this area are not to bad as well for eating out and drinking.

Some times a diy works out a bit cheaper that a package deal.
