Tambolim beach

We have just received an email from friends who live in south Goa, they said they went to Tambolim beach yesterday and there was virtually no beach left, just a small shelf then a big drop, does anyone know if the beach has been affected anywere else because of the monsoons
I am now told that the drop from the sand to the shore is 12 to 15 feet and the worsed part they saw was by the naval base going south towards Cavelossim, there doesn't seem to be any problem towards Benaulim, will keep you up to date as we hear anything
