out of the hotels you have named,i have been to cala nova, sirenis club siesta in santa eulalia, sol s'argamassa,we go to s'argamassa as an adults break,it is a fantastic hotel which would cater for the adults and 4 yr old,but would possibly be to quiet for the teens, but out of them all its the best quality hotel of the bunch in my opinion.my kids are 16,13,11 and 6,and the difficulty is es cana is better for kids, and santa eulalia is better for adults so its a dilemma.the club siesta is a nice hotel, and its just down the hill to mariners beach bar which is suitable for the whole family.i think the best option could be hotel cala nova, you far enough out of escana for it to be quiet, its spotless, its a good quality hotel for all the family, and theres enough going on in escana for the teens.we enjoyed santa eulalia, but the kids kept wanting to go to the fair in escana.you could also consider a 2 center holiday(we are doing this next year)you could book i week in es cana i week in santa eulalia, we are going self catering for i week in es cana in july, then i week all inc in puerto san miguel. good luck mo.

I`m trying to book for next year also, alot of the hotels aren`t on sale yet. I have been in touch with apartments abroad and some of their hotels will be available in October, I think their still working out rates at the moment with the hoteliers.

We atayed at the Mar Y Huete this summer, its a small pension in the heart of Es Cana. The food was good, enough choice for everyone. We liked it because it was smaller and had a more personal feel to it. Only thing that might put you off is there`a no air conditioning. We stayed in August, we found it not as bad as expected, they ceiling fan helped alot.
The price was also very good, Apartments abroad don`t have prices yet.

Stayed at the Orquidea 3 years ago, couldn`t fault it, right on Santa Eulalias promanade. entertainment on during the day and at night. Some sell it self catering, some half board. If you booked self catering you could pay for half board when you got there.

We stayed at Hotel Riomar last year, there was no childrens entertainment, but we passed the Orquidea every night and there was always something going on for the children ( lots of singing and dancing).Seemed to be more for familes, I think there were activities in the day too, but dont know to what extent. The Orquidea is right on the promanade, lovely beach opposite.

Hmmm, I'm swaying towards the Cala Nova (many thanks for the detailed input mobeckwith) since it seems to have reasonable reviews and actually is a lot cheaper than most of the rest. The Orquidea was a little pricey for Half Board.

It seems that the Hotel La Cala in Eulalia is favourite with a lot of people on Tripadvisor but again absolutely no entertainment which is probably a plus for a lot of people but no good for us.

Anyone been in the Ereso in Es Cana?

As Christine mentioned, i think it's a case that a lot of the hotels aren't no sale yet. Certainly when I phoned the Caribe they told me that it would be mid October before they know their prices

Thanks again all.

If you can get a deal on the Cala Nova take it. One of the best hotels on the island and most definitly the best in es cana by a long shot.

i'm afraid that the hotels here are so entrenched in the old package tour mode that they are unable to think creatively. their prices should be ready as soon as the budget airlines in britain and other countries release their prices - ie a year in advance. we rent our villa in summer and every year at this time we have a flood of enquiries for the peak weeks from people who want to take advantage of cheap fares booked well in advance.

Went to the Tropic Garden in Santa Eulalia this year and it was excellent in every respect. They had childrens entertainment on every evening. I would have thought it would be ideal for a 4 year old or even teenagers.

We had a good stay at the Fiesta Don Carlos in Santa Eulalia in 2005. They had a children's disco and the entertainers there were very good.

Might be worth checking it out. It was booked with Portland Direct.

Yes, it appears that the Don Carlos are gearing themselves up for kids next year after all the discussions about Adults only.

I emailed them and they indeed confirmed that kids are welcome next year so lets hope the message gets through to the people expecting a child free hol!!

Still deciding and getting more confused by the day....

Thought about the Miami today (have stayed there before off season) but I think being an AI hotel it'll get a bit mad in August and it's not that big around the bar and pool and always has big queues into the dining room!

Sol Ibiza?? Apparently they don't have much for kids!! :?

The food at the Don Carlos is the best food we've had at any hotel we've been to, couldn't fault it. I'd go for the Don Carlos over an All Inclusive, you'll just be eating all night and day otherwise lol!
