There are several other bars about, bound to be somewhere to watch Greece defend their title...
If it's still there I'd recommend Benny's Taverna - on the shore to the south of town a little walk along the seafront track for a quiet meal or just a drink. Saganaki was excellent, or the seafoood platter.
Listen for bullfrogs, and look for turtles in the pool that forms where a stream flows down onto the beach.
Nice views if you take a walk up into the hills either end of the town.
It will be no problem finding the best place to watch the Footie, but possibly not on a super-large screen (never know for 2008 though). We have often been there when a tournament is on and never failed yet.
We tend to stay in the hotel (Theo's Hotel) and watch on the TV in the lounge with other guests but some guests have their favourite taverna to go to. The Katoi bar (near the Alkyon Beach Hotel) is popular for some visitors. You can see a resort plan at:

As for taxis to other resorts these can be relatively expensive for nearby places such as Afionas, Arillas or Agios Stefanos. Although there are several local taxi drivers they tend to work from the rank in Sidari and usually have to come from there which adds to the costs. I think the cost to Sidari is about 20 euros each way.
Benni's is still there but goes under the name of Akrogiali Fish Taverna.
