first time to the caribbean?

there are five of us going to the caribbean,we would love some advice for the best island to start with,all inclusive preferred also a four or more stared resort,no massive journey to the airport not in the middle of nowhere?
Meant to say, well worth grabbing some brochures such as Virgin and Kuoni to get an idea of accomodation, then try one of the internet agents for a price.
Have a look at the "Caribbean for the 1st time" thread started by MRS.H a few slots down.
Basically though, you can't go far wrong with Barbados for a first island. If I went back I'd probably stay at Crystal Cove on the West coast, or Turtle Beach or the new Almond Casuarina on the South. There will probably be some good deals on the latter, as it's opening in November.
