Yes you get British food everywhere in Marmaris yes it's cheaper yes it's better, For entertainment go to Bar street, bars and disco's are open to 6am in bar street, Normal bars are open untill 2am although all music ceases at midnight hence you go to Bar street then, You will also find your hotel your staying in will have it's bar open for as long as you sit in it.

Marmais is like Blackpool in Turkey which is why I'd personally avoid it like the plaque but it that is what you are after then you'll have a great time.

If you like Benidorm,youll love Marmaris.We go to Benidorm in March and Marmaris in June every year and love going to both.Drinks are more expensive,but eating out is cheap,and better food,you can get good English breakfasts from £1.Not the comedians like Benidorm,but the atmosphere in the restaurants and music is great,and a lot of the waiters are good dancers,modern stuff,and they are all so friendly,you will come home having made lots of friends,and if you ever go back,they really do remember you

for first timers you have picked a nice apartment choice but as first timers you might find it a bit way out ,(not knowing youre location) maybe other ht members can tell you which number bus to get on to get nearer the front ,

Marmaris is nothing remotely like Blackpool, I see no funfair's, I see no Amusements, I see no promenade I see no Tower, The only resemblance it has with Blackpool is Hotels and Appartments, Which I might say are far far superior to the one's in Blackpool.

i agree rwb46 ,blackpool ,or even benidorm, none of those attractions in marmaris,no kiss me quick hats either or hotdog stands though i would be careful when visiting bar street ,

I would go to Marmaris but not Blackpool, Marmaris is Brash and Noisy in places, but has some beautiful areas, its definatly nothing like Blackpool.

just back for our first trip to turkey, marmaris is a large tourist town, but unlike blackpool, ideal for families...........

idea place to take i'll, I was rushed in to hospital and stayed for two nights, but thats another story.

Hi there, i live in blackpool and have been to Marmaris 9 times, booked to go again next July.
Marmaris is nothing like Blackpool - Blackpool is full of hen and stag nights and drunks.
Marmaris is nice, clean and friendly -Blackpool is just a dirty town!!

Give me Marmaris anytime!!!

i have just got back from marmaris. I was a first timer too (i put a post on about first timers it's a bit above yours.) I do agree 100% that marmaris is nothing like Blackpool but it is a lot bigger than you will expect it to be so maybe that's what was meant by that comment?
And as for bar street it is dearer than the beach front and a lot of the bars in beach front now stay open until 4 am. The likes of bar X, turtle bar salt & pepper but i suppose it depends on what time of year you go, the busier it is i think the longer they stay open. saying that this could just be my half cut view and thought i was stopping out longer than i really was As for the food never had one nasty meal & I'm really picky about food. But try natalies steak house on the beach front there is 2 but both run by the same people they have 32oz steaks for 24ytl which is just under a tenner and my husband said they are steaks to die for.

in '98 we got a cheapie to Icmeler. a friend of ours had been to Marmaris the year before and told us not to go. But curiosity got us and we payed a visit, we ended up spending most of our time there and have been going ever since. Oh and i have never been to Blackpool

Do you like Icmeler then Marmaris 98?
