The duty free shop was still there when we travelled in July this year.Enjoy wish it was me.........

I'm glad I'm not the only one who walks around with their eyes shut Roo as I've never noticed that Duty Free either.

Very strange, I've been coming for 8 years and have never seen it either.

We went in July this year, and September last year, and we didn't see a duty free shop on arrival at Monastir - certainly not prior to passport control, and not on collecting our bags.

Only Duty Free we saw was in the Monastir Depature lounge, when we were leaving.

I'm sure that I saw it on the left as you walk through, but already had my allowance - and the customs can be a bit keen there, so daren't risk it! Jenny x

May I ask a couple of questions
1) how much spending money is advisable to take to tunisia for 2 weeks ? we are going HB but like to go out and socialise, have a few drams etc
also how much is it for ciggies?

Hi,

Can't advise on cost of cigs, as neither of us smoke, or brought any back for anyone else.

The two times we have been to Tunisia (Sept last year, July this year) we were half board took £1000 spending money, for us and our young son.

Both times we have brought back between £250-300 (always feel its better to have to much than not enough).

However, there are ATM's if you dont want to take as much money out there with you.

It really is very cheap over there, even when eating out as we did for lunches, and the occassional evening meal for a change from the Hotel.

Hi Fiona, to buy English cigs in Tunisia you don't have a big selection, £12.00 per 200 for some English brands hope this info helps and enjoy your holiday.
