ive done this trip, we went by hovercraft about 2 yrs ago, we loved rhodes. yes you do need passports as you are going to another country, but you wont get charged another visa coming back into turkey. we booked the trip with one of the turkish travel agents, the boat leaves early monring around 9-10 ish and comes back around 5 ish this is approx, think the trip was about an hour or so on the boat, we thought it was a great day out and bought quite a lot of quality items at good prices, i bought an elle watch orignal not copy and i bought my son a underwater camera again a good make as well as other things. hope this helps, im sure someone else will give you a better idea of more recent times etc. they use euro in rhodes but i used my credit card to buy expensive items, i cant remember if they accepted sterling or not

Book your trip with the many shops that sell trips in Icmeler, they will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Port of marmaris to catch the Hydrofoil takes about 50 minutes, Leaving at 10am and returning at 4pm (note times can change) you will also be returned to your accomadation after the Hydrofoil returns to Marmaris port.
