Hi all. Me and my girlfriend are visiting PDC for a week in october, it is our first holiday and we are unsure of how much spending money to take with us. We are going self-catering and staying at the Atalaya Apartments. We are 19 years of age. Looking to hit the restaurants and bars at night time and look around during the day time.
Can anyone advise me on how much to take?
Thanks in advance
One thing we did do though was use the ATM's rather than taking money with us, and only took out cash as and when we needed it.. i found this more secure, we got a much better exchange rate with no fees (Nationwide Flex Account) and we didnt spend jut cause we had it.... have a fab time...
The two of us (hubby and myself) spend around £100 per day but that included lunch and dinner out in restaurants, pressies, drinks, admission fees to attractions eg Timanfaya and also petrol as we hired a car for 3 days.
You could probably do it cheaper if you lived on burger and chips for a week but hey, you are on hols!!! Evening meal with a bottle of wine and a couple of beers was normally £40 if that's any help.

about £600 for a week, meals out drinks
Yes, I reckon that's about right. Oh and two sunbeds and a parasol at the beach will set you back €7.50 - a bargain, I'd say as you have them for the whole day. Although we saw a few stingy peple use them from 10am - 12 then leg it when they saw the sunbed man doing the rounds for his money. Then about 3.30 another load of spongers would come down and lie on the beds people had vacated............
For a rough guide try to work out what you'd spend in the UK and take the same amount in euros. And has been said, take a Nationwide card and use the ATMs.
Lunch about £ 15 per day, dinner about £ 35 per day, so thats £ 350 for the week.
Excursions/car hire could be as much or as little as you want. Is it fair to say you'll probably go on at least one excursion at around £ 20 each, so say £ 40.
You'll probably buy presents/booze/cigarettes to take home. Fair to say the best part of £ 100.
Stuff for your apartment, like coffee, bread, cheese etc for breakfast. Surely £ 30 would cover that for a week.
Now the nightlife. As mentioned it depends how much you drink, or how long for. It's pretty easy to go through £ 60 in a night for two, so that would be £ 420.
I hope you're sitting down for the total here.... £ 940.
Not counted is sunbed hire or various other things you might want to do. Remember if you are running short of cash, having a take-away pizza and a quiet night in with some beers can easily put you back on track.
We often find that during a 7 day holiday you only get 6 or 6½ days in the resort, so obviously as I'm counting based on 7 days, some saving could be made there. Also, you might not go out every night, or eat out every day and night, so maybe more savings there. If you want to live it up take a grand (or even £ 1100), but you'll get by, and still have a great time, on about £ 600 if you are watching your pennies.
Enjoy your holiday
