The weather will be fine in Oct.You may feel it gets a bit chilly(not cold) at night after the sun goes behind the mountain.Depending where you are staying you might enjoy life around Bonanza Square.The bonanza bar has entertainment every night until midnight (resonable acts).The elephante also has acts every night but personnaly i prefer the Bonanza.Next door to the elephante is a Karioke bar thats open until around 3am.Drinks are resonably priced.The restaurants around Bonaza i prefer for an evening meal are Eduardos and El Karmen(about 11 euros for three couses plus half wine per person).For breakfast you are really spoilt for choise Nevada,Pipers, North and South are all very good.If the weather is not great go on a trip to Mijas or get the train(regular and cheap) into Malaga for Shopping Malls.Dont miss a walk to the marina(very impressive).Oh and HAVE A GREAT TIME.

Nearly forgot.Wherever you are staying, if you head uphill away from the coast, you will end up in Arroyo(this is where the train station is).Lovely area and quite a few shops around there too.Which area are you staying in?

I'm not actually sure what area we're staying in yet! We've got the hire of an apartment, apparently it is handy to restaurants, bars etc though!

In Benalmadena that could be anywhere.

All I know is that it is close to the harbour, so we don't need a hire car or so we've been told!

ask the person who you are renting off ,how far exactly from the habour,some say not far and it could be quite a walk,you have a right to ask all sorts of questions etc,in fact if you have their post code off them you can see for youself, on google earth.Have a grand time .

We're going out again next March - booked our apartment through one of the members on the Forum.
