Hi
Depending on how far you want to travel what about Liverpool or Chester?
Let me know your thoughts and I can look out some ideas.
We live on Wirral, in between both.

Hi Lo88,

Where do you live, how far do you want to travel, and will you be driving? I don't mean to sound nosy, but it will give us a better idea of where to suggest.
Chester is lovely though. Lots of nice eateries and bars.

Hello,

Dont think you're nosey at all!
We live in London, and at the moment wont be driving as neither of us has a car (which I know prob restricts us quite alot), and are willing to travel about 3-4 hours.

Thanks very much for your help

What kind of break are you interested in?
From Paddington I would head down to Torquay -have a look at the TLH Leisure resort hotel for a long weekend. There are plenty of activities if the weather's not good and the Torquay area is lovely if it is.

birminghams worth a visit - it's really changed over the last few years, and there are some great pubs/clubs/restaurants around the canal area now.

How about an Easy Jet flight to Edinburgh? You can pick these up very cheaply and Edinburgh's a city best seen on foot or by public transport..

How about York on the train from Kings Cross. York is really lovely and there's the Yorkshire moors, Whitby and Scarborough nearby

The obvious; Brighton. The less obvious; Weymouth. Both have a vibrant night life if you want it and more quiet spots if you don't. Both are within easy reach of London.

What about Bath or the Devon area or Cardiff? Or cheap flights to Ireland, Edinburgh or Glasgow?

Wow, didnt expect so many replies, thank you very much :)

Will have to have a look into all the places you've said

Thanks alot again

Usually around this time of year our local paper runs a second chance to book cheapy caravan breaks - collect vouchers or sometimes just book.
We have another weekend brak coming up in October to the Westar site at Looe Bay - always good fun and only pay about £60 for a 3 night stay.
Think The Sun may be running vouchers at the moment too.

Lo88 if you need any advice on Torbay (torquay, Paignton and Brixham) just ask!

The TLC leisure resort is very nice and in a good location too.

Good luck with your search

Oxford, Cambridge, Ely, Weston-super-Mare, the New Forest ... loads of options by train! You could try Sleeperz at Cambridge for a cheap and clean bed for the night ... just next to the station, but well soundproofed.
