Well, we (that is 'Sir' and I) are back from our month in Bitez! I shall start at the beginning and if you feel sleepy then you can carry on reading later - just kidding!
We got to the airport early even though I knew (from checking on the airport site) that the flight was delayed for two hours! No problems until we got to security....the lights and buzzers went off as I went through and I was called over for a pat-down. Unfortunately, I was wearing a body belt and I mentioned this to the officer - she and her friend then invited me to join them in a room at the side where they could verify it. No problem except that 'Sir' didn't know where I had gone and was looking very worried when I finally re-appeared.
The flight was ok - food awful, but hey so what! - until about ten minutes before we landed and I started to feel hot and 'wobbly'. Next thing I know 'Sir' is patting my hand (not something he does often), the passenger next to me is asking "Does this happen often?" and the stewardess is offering to turn down the heating on the whole plane and bring me water! I begin to feel like a right prat, especially when 'Sir' explains that not only did I pass out, but they all thought I was likely to be coming home in the hold as they could not hear me breathing! Way to go! If you are going to cause chaos - do it in style!
The transfer was waiting for us - air-conditioned late model limo! Very me! and we were at the hotel in no time at all. I won't go into the hotel stuff as I have posted a report but it was ok!
We spent the next four weeks doing absolutely nothing except chilling (usually on Poyraz beach) and the hardest thing we had to do was decide where to eat lunch. We did walk to Gumbet (cheated and got a taxi back), went to Yalikavak and Bodrum (twice). My birthday was spent in a very Turkish restaurant with some old friends and a good time was had by all.
When it was time to leave the taxi arrived in good time and we got to the airport just as the first of the transfer buses was arriving so we were near the front of the queue. The flight had only 3 empty seats and two of them were in the row next to us - so the lady sat in the aisle seat moved over to sit with her friend and 'Sir' and I had the row to ourselves! The food was still awful but I managed to remain 'compos mentis' for the whole flight!
We landed 15 minutes early and our lift was waiting for us - so home by 8.30am and a couple of hours in bed.
I have done 5 lots of washing and 3 lots of drying today, so only the ironing and I starr to pack for the next time!
If I can remember how to do it, I will post some piccies.
