Just back from a two week stay in the Sol Alcudia Centre. Had a great time apart from two things...number one - the mini tornado on thursday evening and number two - a bad experience at Cheers. Was on hols with my other half and my folks. One wet afternoon we decided to go to cheers for lunch coz we had heard and read so much about it (all good) Unfortunately my Dad took a nasty fall on wet tiles at the door on his way in. After helping him up off the ground (he is in his 80's) he sat down in the nearest seat (naturally enough). Not good enough tho for the waitress who immediately came over and what can I say but hounded him out of the seat saying that he couldn't sit here. She was rude and sullen and the service wasn't much better after that. Luckily my dad was and is ok. The place was very busy that day (mayb because of the rain?) and not one person came over to offer assistance when my Dad fell. One couple did ask if he was ok...but for the main part people sat and stared...Bit negligent on Cheers part not to have mats at the door I think. Food was ok but wouldn't put Cheers top of my list for places to visit on my hols.
