Sky Train Bangkok

Hi All
Were going to Bangkok in December and staying at the Shangri La which has a Sky Train station. Does anyone know what time they stop running in the evening and is it safe to be on it at night?

I think the skytrain runs from 6am to midnight.

yes they finish around midnight. I find it very safe and have travelled on the late ones.

Lot of steps up to the station...quite a hike in the heat. You also have access to the River Express boat system a great cheap way to get to some of the sites like Wat Po and the Grand Palace which aren't served by the Skytrain.

some do have escalators- I think the Shangri La stop has?? Sky train or river def the way to get about

Surely you wouldn't miss the pleasure of riding round Bangkok in a tuk tuk, one of lifes great journeys(and a quick way to getting lung disease) :lol:

Tuk-tuks I love the ride but I've found it a surefire way of getting dropped of in the middle of an unknown part of Bangkok when you tell the driver that you're not interested in shopping or a gem factory and just want to go to where he said he'll take you in the first place. Its happened to us a couple of times and wasted a lot of our holiday time so I don't use them anymore.

Don't forget the underground - never used it myself but its there and shiny new
