Hi Anne, i have recently booked for next May, first time to Mexico
I looked at all the weather stuff and think may looks good (fingers x).
The tour operator also confirmed it is pretty settled weather aswell
I have booked the same area as you are ooking at as people i spoke to say it is the nicest, unless you really want loads of things going on, but i want peace with a bit of life a taxi drive away, not on my doorstep.
good luck :)

My sister in law has been at many different times of the year & says that the middle of May is great.

We went to the Riu Tequilla in May (8th-22nd) weather was brilliant for the 14 days, the odd shower in the late afternoon but temperatures 25-30c during the day 18-20c at night, hope you enjoy Mexico as much as we did, look up our review under Club Riu tequila

Avoid our summer time due to hurricane risk. We went at Easter and the weather was perfect.

Danielle, we are also going to Mexico (Playa Carmen) in September. The sun hours relates to the hours of sunshine, not the daylight hours. I have heard the weather is good all year round, just rains more some months than others and also hurricane risk is higher some months.

we were thinking of mexico next year and thpught easter would be a good time as the kids have 2 weeks for easter....only just found out the the flight from newcastle doesn`t start til 3 may...cannot believe they are starting for the summer season...the only time the kids have is the summer hols after easter..if you go to mexico you have to have 2 weeks there as the flight is abt 12 hours..

We got married there last year in May. The whole 2 weeks were the there the only time it rained was the wedding day (typical), but the rest of the time was beautiful.

Before that we went there in September time and again, the only time we saw rain was the day we went home. I would avoid June - August as there is a higher hurricane risk.
