First Choice feature the orlando through sunstart, falcon and jwt. It is also used as an allocation on arrival unit at times. Thomas cook use their Sunset brand.

The T/O allocation has dropped for S06 due to apartments being bought privatly.

Hi

Could anyone tell me if the Orlando complex has lifts as I seem to have found different information online about this.

I am sure I have read posts that say there are loads of steps and no lifts, however on a couple of websites listing apartments for rent it says there are lifts.

Would be grateful for any info.

Thanks

It depends on what block you are in, the Orlando is set out a bit like a holiday camp with lots of different blocks. I assume the main block which houses reception, bar etc has lifts but the other blocks do not, however they are only 1 or 2 storeys high so not many steps.

Just booked to go there on the 7th July for a week with some mates. Just wondering if anyone else has booked for around this time.

Hi Saz, Sorry about this but in my opinion they are awful unless you are on an 18-30 holiday. Don't just take my word for it though, check out the hotel reviews on this site and also see what replies you get from other users.

- no they're worse than awful!! We had a holiday from hell from there about 6 years ago. What an absolute dump with a capital 'D'.

However - no need to necessarily worry SL46, quite a few have been sold off to private investors & the complex has improved over the last couple of years. Yes the complex is cheap and cheerful, but if you are going with your mates, I assume you will not be spending much time there anyway.
It is situated in a great area with loads to do. Only a short taxi ride to Veronicas. I am sure you will have a great time.

I have not stayed here but have a friend who lives in this complex and have visited in the day time. Pool area was nice although kids said the large pool was a bit cold but food was ok at pool bar and quiz etc were on. If you are anything like us its only a base to sleep at night and I,m sure you will have a great time sarah lou. Nightlife is brill along the road try St Eugens, Garfields and Irish Rover. Enjoy your hols.

I was a holdiday rep there for first choice. Wonder if I spoke to any of you!!

Must say though it wasn't the easiest job i have ever had!

Remember that your holiday is what you make it. You only need a place to sleep and wash really. I am sure nobody goes on their hols to sit in an apartment!!

Also if it is really bad ask to be moved apartment or even complex. They will sometimes do this at an extra charge.

Just make sure you have a good time!

Not stayed in the Orlando, but if you can book an aprtment in the Sunset Bay which is just over the road, no complaints whatsoever. lovely clean apartments, two pools, nice eating areas, but ask for low floor if poss. 'cos there can be some 'hilly' ones, which is a bad trek in the sun. Go into choicehols.com on the net, its a family run business, they have apartments, villas in Tegueste which is on the same road as Orlando and Sunset Bay - perfect, then book your flights separately, it works out so much cheaper. The original wigan pier run by Jane and Charlie is a really friendly lively pub in the Bay complex, you'll have agreat night, they're leaving this year unfortunately, but hey if you get out there this summer you'll have a brilliant time. :D

Me and my family stayed in these apartments back in April 2004.

It was low season so it was reasonably quiet, there were no gangs of lads/lasses anyway, we enjoyed it and first choice put us up in a brand new refurbed apt. have the major tour operators pulled out of this hotel now as i havnt seen it advertised anywhere.......would consider going late 2008 on a cheap deal if i could get one

We stayed here 6 years ago. Just after we had booked they apartments were featured on Holidays from Hell !! We were unsure whether to still go, but we did, and while it wasn't fantastic we didn;t think it was that bad. Bit hard to sleep at night as no air con - kids had to sleep on mattresses on the floor with the balcony doors wide open. Not sure if they have air con now. The apartments were definitely a bit run down. One good thing about the apartments is their location. At the top of a dead end road so no traffic noise. There was a motorway at the back of the apartments but I cant remember it being close enough to cause any problems.

The Orlando complex is no longer a touristic complex, all the apartments have been sold off. The reception is now closed as is the supermarket. There is obviously no entertainment either.
If you really do want to stay there   have a look for a private apartment on holidaylettings or owners direct.
I could certainly not recommend them at the moment.
