Glad you felt so safe. We actually are not obliged to stop at zebra crossings but do so out of courtesy. Please be careful as a lot of lorries and vans will park in front of zebra crossings so us drivers can't see if anyone is waiting to cross.

i really agree with bev on this one as i feel very safe crossiong the road over their as what i do back home keep up the safe driving only thing i keep on forgetting which way to look lol

i agree crossing the roads is so safe, the taxis was so great and other cars stopping for us, always gave a friendly wave to say thanks for them stopping

I noticed this in Corralejo and started to wait until there was a gap in traffic before approaching the zebra crossing!.The locals are lovely too,very friendly.
