He sometimes rents out his whole house, his sister Virginia rents rooms, and his brother Luis also rents out rooms in his house.
Albuquerque Villas, opposite the new Lemon Tree hotel in Candolim is excellent but will probably be booked up. Jala, on reception is very helpful and may be able to steer you to somewhere with similar standards. Ususally a good exchange rate there, too!
Thanks Max and Roma, I have made a note in my little book so will check out when in Goa. I have actually been to the Albuquerque Villas and must agree that they are fantastic, we didn't stay there but would have no hesitation in doing so. As you said Roma, they are likely to be booked up as I think many people book year on year in advance - can't blame them either I think it might be over budget for my backpacking friend though. I do know of a couple of places myself and also have contacts in Goa who i am sure will give advice but I just wanted to see what other HT'ers come up with as they will be more discerning After all there is clean.....and there is clean
