I am going to Iceland for a short break in February to try and see the northern lights.
Can anyone give me an idea of how cold it will be, will there be snow, and how many hours of daylight to expect?
Apart from the trip to see the northern lights we have one more day to fit in an excursion. What does anyone recommend? The Golden Circle tour, dogsledding, snowmobiling. I want to make the most of the trip.
Any other tips/advice would be welcome.
According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora and click on Aurora (astronomy) you are most likely to see them September to October and March to April.
I can highly recommend the http://www.bluelagoon.com Most airlines can arrange a trip combined with a transfer to the airport.
