Koni apartments are modern and well kept, there is a main pool and a quieter smaller pool,they are the best apartments I have stayed in Greece.They are about 10mins walk out of the Centre of Stalis, there is a steep hill to the apartments,but you do get used to it. Not good for less abled people. Lots of Reviews of the apartments on this site.I think only Direct Holidays use this accommodation, but this may have changed due to the merging of mytravel and thomas cook

We love Stalis and the whole Crete way of life.
It is busy but not mad like malia, lots of lovely restaurants,a number of them overlook the beach, ample bars to visit, The beach is beautiful and usually you can get a sunbed/umberella from the bars which are on the sea front, so prices are not too dear due to the competition.
The only thing is that there is no walkway along the front, so you have to use the road which runs thro Stalis to Malia, this can get busy usually with quads, scooters, there is a pavement so you should be okay.
We have been to Stalis 3 times and loved each visit, we try to go to different places, but seem to get drawn back to Crete,
