Hi All
We are spending Christmas in Tavira this year. Has anyone any experiences of Tavira at Christmas eg, what bars/restraunts are open, do any of them do Xmas dinner? We spent last Christmas in Villamoura and there was quite a lot open, but with Tavira being smaller wr wondered how much of it was "open" We have holidayed in Lagos and Albufiera so are conversant with the way things are done in Portugal.
Any experiences and recommendations will be most welcome.
Ta
Tony
Hi Tony,
I have not been in Tavira at Christmas but have been there at New Year. Although some places are closed, there are still a lot open.
There are no Brittish bars/restaurants there but sure you will find something for Christmas dinner.
What about your hotel (if you are staying in one)?
Also if you have a car you can travel to a lot of other resorts from there.
If I can be of anymore help, just ask!!!

You could try the Beira Rio which is a very nice restaurant on the east side of the river north of the Roman Bridge. If you stand on the bridge and look away from the sea it's the last building on the right before the bend in the river. It's a bit dearer than some of the locallly run places but the quality and portions justify it.
It's run by three Irishmen (but is not an Irish bar) and they will at least know what you're taking about.
Phone and ask - 00 351 2813 23165
