I can't help I'm afraid as we always go into the city. But just wanted to say welcome to HT :D Where are you on your way to?

I have booked the Novotel Suvarnabhumi (on site airport). Got a deluxe double room on B&B for £65 for the 1 night.

I did note cheaper hotels within 20-30 minutes but decided on the convenience of this place as we dont arrive until about 1 am . :?

Hi.
Ive seen the Novotel and i think i might end up there. Just feels a bit like a cop out though, if you know what i mean.
I am travelling onwards to Krabi on the friday morning, then moving straight on to Ko Lanta. After that im open to suggestions. Ive got a loose plan that includes : Ko lanta>Railay>Tonsai>Phi Phi. My mate also wants to head down to ko muk for a day or 2, but as we only have 14 days on the ground i dont want to try and do too much and end up knackered and pale at the end of it.
By the way, im looking at spending as much time as possible on Phi Phi. Is it worth it or overrated ??

Thanks.

Have a look at this report by garlic bread. He love phi phi. One of our other members, Travelling Sam is not long back as well and is bound to see this when he comes on :D

Mmm - I was in Koh Racha, Koh Yao & Krabi recently - havn't seen Phi Phi for about 13 years! I hear mixed reports - very positive or very negative regarding the rebuilding post-tsunami. Certainly worth making a beeline for, as it's easy enough to move onto half a dozen other islands with ease if it doesn't suit you.

Often with Thai Islands you just get a sense of what islands right for you when you arrive. Rai Lei / Tonsai is pretty spectacular, many people find it pretty hard to leave there once they arrive!

Ah, so much to see. Well i loved it last year so im sure i will be delighted wherever i end up.
Im looking at booking my 1st night in the Ibis Huamark. Anyone heard anything about this place ?

We don't have reviews of it yet I'm afraid. It looks fine for a nights stopover. It has a night market close by if you aren't too tired and its in a large mall so there are plenty places to eat.
