Marineland

Hiya Kazzzza! :D

We were in Marineland in August............we thought it was expensive for what it was.

Yes the shows were good, but the time between them was quite a lot, and there wasnt a lot of "other things" to do other than a small zoo which only took half an hour to look round.

This left us just waiting around for the next show...............as I say an expensive day out for the facilities available. I wouldnt do it again.

If you are in Palma Nova its a short taxi ride away (it only took us fifteen minutes by car from Palma itself (we were in Can Pastilla)

Hi Tootsie,

Thank you.
I did think the gaps were big for the next show.

And was wondering how we would stay there the whole day, to keep the kids amused and see all the shows.
It's mainly the Dolphins we wanted to see.
Thanks.

i thought i was a good day out and not that expensive compared to what you would pay over here in Englnd - to go to Battersea zoo its over £10 and they have no Dolphins in marineland they also haev those giant turtles that they look after and try to get them back ion there natural habitat - we also walked there from palma nova with a 4 year old and its not far at all - its actually a nice walk - was stopped off and picked some peaches and some almonds litearlly just outseid eht marineland and the sportscentre next door and there is s sweet little beach round the bsck of MArine lane you get out via the restaurant there after a lady stamps your hand

there is an Aquarium in Palma which is a brilliant day out its much bigger and just on the outskirts of Palam - get a bus or a taxi for around 20 euros

but we spent a brilliant couple of days there the kids loved it so much we went back

both brilliant days out

Hi wLondon,

I know what you mean about Battersea Park Zoo.
It cost a fourtune to get in now the council have sold it.
I have been there many times over the years.
And no more Pony Rides for the kiddies :?

The walk sounds good, as we tend to walk everywhere, so that's no problem.
It's just trying to occupy the kids between the shows.

Did I read that Marine Land has a mini water park too?

Is the Aquarium bigger than the one on the Southbank?
We went to on in Paphos, which was a let down.

Thanks.

The first time I went to marineland was 1988 and the last time 2004. It is exactly the same with very small changes. In 1988 in real terms it was cheap compared today. It was not crowded in 1988 like it is today, see's everybody we have to go on a trip bug. Went to the caves of drach in 1989 no trouble getting in at anytime, 2005 it was a 2 hour wait. I try not to visit places that are tourist excursions just too busy these days.

Dolphine show OK, small kids enjoy it with the paddling pool but over all marineland is tiny or nicer way to put it is compact and good for small kids who don't like walking around in the heat.

Thank ctoau

The queues would be a nightmare for me, with two children, one young
Hopefully it will not be so busy the first week we are there, as it's not half term.

I would use No-Frills, good service and value. Guides on excursions we have been on have been pleasent and knowledgeable.

Have done most of the majorca attractions but not yet been to Marineland, has anybody been there and what do they think? As we are a couple with no children in tow is this worth a look? We will be staying in Camp de mar.

The first time we went to Marineland we had three children with us - and they loved the parrot show, dolphins etc.

We went again last year with our youngest son (14) - the others having now left home.

We came to the conclusion that for the price there was actually not a lot going on!

Of course the dolphin show is great, as are the seals and the parrots, but the shows last a relatively short time and there can be a bit of a wait between shows - and once you have looked around the small zoo (and it is small) theres not much to do to pass the time - I feel this would be improved by having a few rides there or even a couple of water slides.

In conclusion my husband and I would never go here if it was just us two - but with a family of young children I guess it would be worth the relatively high price for tickets.
