We have a break each year (with dogs) in the New Forest and have always found the Forestdale hotels comfortable, welcoming and fun. They have hotels all over the place. Have a look at:
Dog-friendly places to stay here - it's a lot easier to find places than it used to be
http://www.griffon-forest.co.uk has some dog friendly lodges. We don't have a dog so i can't specifically comment on suitability but the lodges themselves are fab.
http://www.sandy-balls.co.uk also take dogs .fabulous place with some great walking too over the moors ( lots of ponies)or forest, been there a couple of times myself. the site and accomodation is all well maintained and has won numerous awards over the years for best uk park and its reasonable in cost . if you check their website and go to special offers they do some cracking prices for late bookings. they also do weekend breaks over school holidays as well which many places do not.
Im forever singing the praises of this holiday park

thanks all, gonna be a busy winter looking at all these places, always fancied the new forest so may give that a go, the dog will love the trees.
forgot to mention there are numerous good food pubs around there too many tucked into the forest where dogs always appear very welcome :D.
This is also on the Hoseasons website.
