I still £280 each is a lot of money for an upgrade seeing as First Choice economy is v.good anyway.

I wouldn't pay 280pounds for 2 people, nevermind each!
I was speaking to a young couple last year, they arrived a few days after us and they paid for an upgrade.
They said it wa very good, own tv screen ( which i thought was standard in economy anyway??) , some of those things for your eyes, to keep the light out, and a few extras.
Its not worth the money at all, just think what you can spend 560pounds on in Goa?
Its only 10 hours each way anyway

It really depends on your priorities, and for me thats a comfortable and enjoyable flight so i always up grade, its not just the extra leg room but also

- wider seats
- priority boarding, sometimes through a separate door
-priority baggage handling on arrival at the destination
- dedicated cabin crew and a separate cabin
-priority checking in, with separate desk, which as definite bonus on the return flight
guaranteed to be next to each other (although can mean across the isle)
- extra luggage allowance of 30kg per person
- free drinks
-upgraded menu
-dedicated toilet facilities for the premium cabin
- larger tv with individual programms so you dont have to watch the same as everyone else

Who would want to spend 10hrs in cattle class!!, if you can afford it then upgrade in my opinion

First Choice Star Class is definately not cattle class, wider seats ,more legroom, seat back tv's, ok food once again it is what's important. I would upgrade on a Monarch flight, but personally felt it was a waste of money with FC and as 7 of us travel, baggage allowance is never a problem. Also the drinks definately didn't flow quickly enough to make that an inentive :(

you pay your money to make your choice :)

Hi all

Cant agree more that the upgrade with FC is not worth the money.
The seating is the same width (7 across in both premium and cattle).
You can upgrade the TV in cattle to the premium service for£5 each way.
Leg room in cattle is OK (33")
So what extra do you get worth £200?

As the topic has now gone on to First Choice I'll lock this as we have a flights forum and First Choice thread. If the OP would like me to transfer the posts to that thread just pm me and I'll do so.
