I have just this minute put the phone down after a conversation with friends who stayed at the Kamat (returned Sunday). They were not impressed with this hotel saying that although it is advertised as a 3 star, it most definitely is not. They (and several other guests) had to pay extra for rooms there as their allocated ones were so bad. My friend also had some money stolen from her purse which was in a drawer. She did not report this as she was uncertain at first and once she realised for sure the money had gone, she just didn't want to make a fuss.

This post is just to make anyone who has booked this hotel aware of potential problems - you may be okay, but be vigilant and ensure you secure all money and valuables in a safety deposit box - take your OWN padlock and key for extra security.

My friends have been to Goa every year since 2000 so know what to expect, however they would not stay at the Kamat again.
