Staying near Pwllheli next week for a few days during half term. Are there any of the larger supermarkets in the area? Got to fit all the winter woolies into the car so don't want to have to end up having to take too many food essentials.

If you go on to the web sites of all the major supermarkets there is usually a 'find a store' facility.

Think there is a Tesco in Portmadog too which isn't far away. Do a search on the supermarkets sites as suggested. I always do when staying in the UK.
Yup, there's a Tesco in Porthmadog which is not too far away and is your best bet 
There's also a Tesco in Caernarfon, and a Tesco Extra in Bangor - but maybe Bangor would be a tad too far from Pwllheli to do a shop.

I was going to suggest doing a search on the supermarket websites but I've been beaten to it. The wonders of the internet, there's no suprises or having to find places anymore when we reach a destination
