I remember reading about the Crystal Hotel, Bodrum on a HT thread about 'worst all inclusives'. If you check the reviews on Tripadvisor it makes shocking reading! If you have the chance to change hotels, I would definitely take this option.

PLease do NOT stay here - i stayed just for 1 night last Sep and it is possibly the worst place ive stayed in my life - NO way 5 star more like 2 star. Food terrible, drink on "all inclusive" is cheapo vodka, whisky and thats it. Water isnt bottled from a water machine that they fill from the top - you can get bottled water and crisps etc but they charge you a fortune in the shop for it - its about 45 mins on a dolumus outside of Bodrum and set on the steepest hill ever and NOT suitable for anybody of a certain age. - if you click on here you can read my review.

PLease re consider you will have the worst hol ever if you stay here and lets face it we only work to pay for our holidays!! - dont let uit up you off turkey though as the country is amazing just this hotel isnt.

Thanks Scalder very much for your imformation and words of advice .We should be getting very worried by now after reading about your experience.As you say in your p.m the hotel Cristal looks fantastic on its own web page, and it does.But this is what these forums are for,help and advice. We took yours and cancilled our hotel reservation(losing our depoit which was 25% of the total price).As you rightly said the holidays are dear enough without paying for one you wont enjoy.After hours of reserching on the likes of tripadviser etc,came up with the hotel Bagevieri in Gumbet. This hotel had some terrific reports. So now we are once again looking forward to our first visit to Turkey.Once more thank you. Dave.

Brilliant so pleased you have found something with great reviews.
I feel its unfair you settled to loose 25% of cost of holiday - at end of day they missold you a 5 star hotel that was in fact only a 4 star - i personally would have fought them for all my money back but understand sometimes you just want it all sorted.
Turkey is a fab country and with the right accomodation (which you seem to have found) you will im sure have an amazing time.
As for the hotel Cristal im sure they will have NO repeat guests off this year and i can only offer sympathy to anybody who goes there as it is truly terrible (and belive me im not a hotel snob - on my holiday last year i travelled around Kos, Rhodes went to marmaris and Bodrum and stayed in places from 2 stars up to 4) I always belive as long as a place is clean, and if its including food of any kind is hygenic then you cant complain and Hotel Cristal was neither.

Anyway im sooooo pleased you have decided to stick with Turkey but just change hotels. Im sure you will have an amazing time - im very jealous no holiday for me in 16 weeks preg and my summer will be spent being a 1st time mum!!

by way reviews on your new place on trip advisor sound amazing and there all current reviews as well. They read ever so slightly different from the cristal dont they
All photos of it look fantastic as well - im sooo pleased you've made an ace decision.
