Hello, off to the riverside guest house in 7 days, as you all probably know because i keep asking countless questions. Just tell me to be quiet if im annoying you
Another few questions, Ive just bought a cheap torch because it recommended one in the holiday brochure.
We have never actually taken a torch with us before, and have stayed in a few hotels where you actually need one, but we managed.
How far is the riverside guest house to the beach and to the main baga road?
Also, do you know where Baga river is when you get to the far end of Baga beach, is that the river you can cross to get to the beach?
Ive had an idea, we could cross the river instead of the bridge to get to the beach.
The Riverside is about a 3 minute walk to the beach, it is the river you cross to get to the beach, it's where the ugly box bridge used to be and now, so I'm told, there is a nice new posh one in it's place, I'll find out in 6 weeks time , Cliffs shack is over the other side of the river, If I remember rightly you have used that one haven't you?, you can walk through it as long as the tide is out. I bet you are sooooo excited now, how long is it before you go now?

We discovered Cliffs shack last year, wish we discovered it a few years ago, its gorgeous. Nice little friendly shack.
I admit the sand there is a bit like gravel, kind of hurts a bit on your feet, but the waters really calm compared to Baga.
They dont have many sunbeds, which is a big plus!!
We go in exactly 7 days, im sooo excited.
Going to the doctors today to pick up my sons malarone perscription.
Are you staying at the regency in 6 weeks ?
Not long for you either, the 6 weeks will fly by.
Yes we're staying at the Regency, just the opposite side to you, I can't wait!! When you walk to the beach from your guesthouse it is along a sandy path through trees, alongside the river, so you don't actually walk through the river to get to the beach (sorry if I mislead you), although if you go across the bridge, away from the beach and then along to Cliffs Shack you can walk through it from there. OK have I totally confused you now?
Ive got it all planned out in my head
Soon as we get to our hotel around 8am,get showered and changed then head to the nearest chemist to pick up mozzie spray and other essentials, then go to the beach.
Nicola if you ever came from Baga and went over the old bridge to mackies or Ingos your place is a very short stroll from where you went over the bridge, more of a dusty track than a road then. As you get to the beach from your hotel expect a bit of hussle from the shack boys congregating at the back of the shacks, last year they began fighting amongst each other to get our custom.
Thanks FTV - i think i know where you and Donna mean now.
Just an idea for you Nicola, why not take a little fold down fishing rod (cost about £6-£7) and get your fella to take the little `un fishing for an hour while you chill out, you only need bread and a few prawns for bait, I bet he would love it
Haha, thanks .
You are in a nice way of course see the bit I added in my last post, it might give you a couple of hours of peace. Not too far to walk to Baga, not sure of taxi prices but can`t be too much.
Donna B
He would probably use our little one as bait, and eat the bread and prawns
Bob, im taking a torch, and we are staying not far from you.
We bought our torch out their last year! It's a really good one! It was only about 100rps - and it's still in good working condition!
I always take a torch, you will need one if you are walking back from the beach in the dark and also if you go walking alongside the river up to the market, because if there's a pot hole you can guarantee I will find it.
When do you go? I know you've told me already but I'm so excited about going myself I forget when everyone else will be there.

Hi,
if you cross the bridge and go to the guest house where a couple of taxis are and ask for john he charged us 50 r to baga but if you ask the taxi drivers outside the hotel its 100r
hope this helps and yes we took a touch for if we walked to the beach at night over the bridge way.and not the rd way you will know what i mean when you get there, have a great holiday i am back there on the 21st march yippee.
