When I left Las Americas in early December, the bridge over the dry river bed was pulled out.
Has it been replaced?

do you mean the one at the end of Veronicas? near Macdonalds? if so no it hasnt there still working on it (no surprise there then!! 
- i got back on the 1st Jan
you have to walk down by the beach and over a bridge by beach and round. only a few mins extra walk but a hassle all the same
