After reading numerous reports, I get the impression that prices (food, drink etc.) tend to be higher in Lagos than Alvor, is this likely, given their proximity to each other? Just wondered.
cheers.
I holiday in Lagos every year and occasionally stray into Alvor.I can't honestly say that I've noticed any difference in prices. In both resorts, however, there is a noticeable difference in prices between establishments that cater solely for tourists and those which cater mainly for the locals, but that applies all over the world, more or less.
I also think the same. Having spent a fortnight in Lagos last summer but having strayed to various other resorts as well.
Its more a case of individual establishments varying in price rather than towns. Most restaurants display their menus and prices outside so you know what you are getting in to in the first place. The only place I though was very expensive in Lagos was the Artista restaurant.

The expensive(but excellent) one (Dos Artistas) is near the Riomar hotel. There is another one, O Artista, opposite the Tivoli and their prices are similar to most restaurants.
Sorry didn't make myself very clear
Not the same place but I find that the prices are cheaper in Lagos than in Praia da Luz
