Hmmm.... Do you have an outward bound/mountaineering type of shop in your town? You could maybe put an add in there.

Thank you Glynis. Unfortunately where I live on the s.w. coast, we mainly have surf shops and nearest larger shopping place is 45 miles away. Maybe I'll try eBay in time for ski season.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't ski again.

I've bought/sold a few things on Ebay and I've not yet had any problems. Ebay have all sorts of procedures to help you out if things go wrong, and you don't have to release goods until you've received payment. It's also fairly easy to use.

Also, I don't know if you have one in the West Country but up here they publish a paper called the "Ad Trader" - or the "Yellow Paper" as it's fondly known - where people can advertise things for sale.

If you do sell via Ebay, just check that your chosen courier company (or Royal Mail) will send skis......I remember reading on snowheads.com that this was a common problem when trying to sell via Ebay.......

Some of the main couriers refuse skis for insurance reasons and due to the excessive length of them......

( I run a cc and would accept skis, but its not cheap!)

Thanks fo replies. I have now got over the worst of my disappointment and have decided to keep the skis as one of my sons is not much taller than me so he can use them. I might even have a go myself at the nursery slopes which should not have any bad lumps in them just to test out the knee. Before op I spent a whole week skiing (even one short black run) without falling over - I am just a fairly slow skier. So all is not lost.
