Just wanted to say that we booked a trip to Mumbai (4 days/3 nights by train) with Daytrippers in November 2007 and it was excellent, very well organised.
However, as I said in one of my earlier posts on this thread, places ARE limited and if you want to go on this trip on a specific date, I'd recommend that you contact Eddie before you travel.
I think the website says you can book up to 6 weeks in advance.

I did the trip with my son to Delhi-Agra-Ramthanbore-Jaipur. Including Ramthambore was probably a mistake - 6 hours in a car to get there on shocking roads and 4.5 hours back, the park itself was a little disappointing re range of wildlife we saw, but saying that we saw parts of rural India we would never have seen otherwise and the memories will be with me always.
If you do make this trip - they will say take a fleece. Take more than that there was ice on the ground when we set off for the early morning safari - it was freezing. Also probably worth paying a bit more and going to the better hotels, the cheaper ones were fine, but they were not in areas you would feel comfortable wandering about in. I'm only guessing the more expensive hotels were in better areas, I may be wrong.
I was also told that it would have been a lot cheaper if I'd paid for my own Spicejet flights and then booked the rest of the tour with a tour oeprator from Delhi (as they were responsible for you from arrival in Delhi to return to Delhi in any case) but paying the extra did give me peace of mind.
I would recommend venturing out from Goa though, it really is an eye opener and totally different.
Does anyone have a mobile number for Eddie or have a trip booked with him soon to ask him to mail me ??
Thanks

Thanks Irishman - but I only wanted to do local trips in Goa, but have had no reply from daytripper or Johnstours - and as I am travelling on my own I was hoping to do some organised trips rather than just get a taxi.
Just been checking the latest on the two broken undersea internet cables that have been severed in the Med off Egypt. The first of two repair ships started work on Tues. 5th Feb and it is expected to take a week to fix. It has disrupted internet services to India, I expect this explains the lack of communication with the likes of Daytripper. I booked up a big trip myself with Eddie about 10 days ago by email, and I know he's good at replying to them. Alan
