Flying First Choice, 3rd March from Manchester-what is the seating like, are they 2-3-2?
Staying in the Palmarinha. I know its quite a walk, fine with that, but is it nice. Will I get aircon like first choice say?
How much are fags?
How much is beer in bars and 'supermarkets'
Are there ATM's in Calungute with plenty of money?
What is the party atmoshere like, we are 25 and like to have fun every night.
Will £700 be enough for us. We want to do loads of day trips. What do you suggest?
Do I need injections, do i need to take maleria tablets. Went Greece a few years ago and when we left, i was the only one in the airport covered in bites!!
Read so much stuff about the weather being cold in the evening. Are skirts and little tops ok.
Shopping; do they sell stuff for size 12. when i went thailand, all t-shirts were size small and jeans were like for size 0. Also, for men, do ther tshirts shrink?
I am so sorry for all of the questions but i am so excited. I need this holiday with the fiance like you wouldnt believe. Just started a new job and its so hard, also, my old place has messed up my annual leave and i wont be getting as much.
He proposed to me just before xmas and this holiday is kind of like our mini honeymoon.
any help is fully apreciated. xxx
First choice seating is excellent even in star class. As for the rest I would suggest you just browse the forum. There is a mine of information on here and lots of people willing to help.Welcome and let me tell you this may be your first visit to goa but not your last. You will love it.
Hi Superking and welcome to the Goa Forum. Can't answer about your hotel because I've never stayed there but know where it is - plenty of taxi's outside to take you into Baga / Calangute - the closest two places for you if you are looking for restaurants, bars and night clubs. A kings beer costs 30 rups in bars, a bit more in restaurants and some shacks, a case of 12 kings costs 175 rups from the local wine shop. There are plenty of ATM's in and around the Calangute area so withdrawing cash is not a problem. Plenty of lively bars and clubs in Baga and Calangute (although this season is quieter than past ones). Most bars stay busy until midnight then people move onto the clubs afterwards. Baga Road and Tito's Lane are probably your best bet with lots of places to choose from. Money wise you should have enough with 700, the cost of living is cheaper than European Tourist destinations. Lots of trips out available but rather than book through your Rep see if you can get a local taxi driver to take you....save money!! No injections are mandatory when entering Goa but you may want to have them for your own peace of mind, same with Malaria tabs. Still plenty of Mossies around now despite the cold evenings. Weather in March is hot during the day and warm and humid at night. The current cold snap here should (hopefully) have passed by the time you get here. Shopping consists mainly of beach wear (sarongs, sun dresses, kaftans etc) on the stalls and shops in the tourist areas but there are also smaller boutique type shops where size 12's are sometimes catered for. Om Sai is good for mens Jeans and T-shirts (they import from Thailand)
Cheers guys, will have a look tonight
try Day Trippers for excursions cheaper than hotel/holiday reps and good value you can look them up on the net, dont know if any one answered the question re fags 200 superkings in the supermarket are around £7.50 and £6.50 in the duty free shop at the airport. You can get clothes to fit size 12 easily, you can even have them made to measure at reasonable prices, would recommend Om Sai husband, son and male friends have all bought stuff from there including DC trainers which are pretty good value. Would recommend taking a cardigan or a fleece as sometimes (not often it can feel a bit chilly at night) but most of the time you wont need it. Hope you have a great time.
