Got back from Fuengirola a few hours ago, after having been their for 6 days. Weather was excellent, sunshine every day and around 18 degrees. The resort itself however was very quiet. Stayed in the Fuengirola Beach hotel which has around 180 rooms and in total there were only around 60 people in the bar at night. Many of the bars were very quiet a few were closed and the restaurants were fairly quiet. Found an excellent Chinese restaurant in "fish alley", good food, and the price was unbelevale. A starter, an appetiser, the main course, rice, or noodles and either ice cream or coffee. OK not exactly haute cuisine, but if you are on a budget great value at only 5.85 euro. Decent size portions and the food was fine. It s called CISNE restaurant near the Dolphine bar at the start of fish alley.

I did a DIY holiday, flights with easyjet booked the hotel with alpha rooms and got the train from the airport to the resort and a taxi from train staion to hotel. All very simple and smooth and by doing this saved a considerable sum than if I had booked with tour operator.

Fuengirola beach hotel is near the castle and is about a 25/30 minute leisurley stroll into the centre of Fuengirola. The resort is very flat and has a promenade that runs for miles.This makes t easy if you have a wheelchair bound person, or someone who may have difficulties walking up hills etc. There were a number of people there who were wheelchair bound

This was my second time in Fuengirola both have been at this time of year. I have no idea what it would be like in high summer or what the clientele would be like but at this time its mainly older couples which helped make for a relaxing holiday.
