The cheapest way, assuming you book early, would probably be by flying with TUIfly from Manchester to Cologne/Bonn but this only works on certain days of the week. This can be around £75 return including tax.
In June you would have to travel out on a Monday or Tuesday morning at 08:10 - on the other days the flights land close to midnight. Coming back you'd have to avoid Monday/Tuesday as they take off at 07:00 which is probably too early for a practical departure time from the hotel. The other days return flights arrive Manchester around 20:30. There are no flights in either direction on Saturdays. The transfer between the airport and Remagen is easy by public transport.
By train you can't beat TUIs best price but if they've sold out of cheap tickets it may be an option. Unfortunately it isn't an easy one. Virgin will sell you tickets from Manchester via Brussels to almost the German border but not into Germany (!!). German Rail will sell London-Remagen (but only over the phone). Both of these will be around £90 and you're still part missing. Even worse, if you buy from German Rail and need to use a connecting peak hour service from Manchester to London it could cost more than flying at standard prices. If you buy from Virgin they will let you travel on connecting peak hour trains on the through ticket to Belgium. Realistically you need to leave Manchester about 06:30 to do it in a comfortable day.
You can go by coach as far as Cologne, but that is a 19 hour overnight journey changing in London. Through fares from Manchester to Cologne are about £90 return plus a few quid for the local train connection to Remagen. Clearly this is a non starter if TUI still have cheap seats available.
