Looking for advice on where to go with a 1 year old in July. Ideally a short flight 3hrs max. Thought about either Menorca or Algarve but wasn't sure which resorts,
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Is it a family holiday, or just for a couple? Either of these places are good for both but if you want resort recommendations it might be easier for folk to recommend if you tell us a little bit about the make up of your party, what you like to do, do you prefer an apartment or an hotel, lively or quiet, etc ?
Looking for somewhere not too noisey more family orientated and would prefer to stay in an apartment, near to beach/resort centre.
First time travelling with a baby hence the short flight!
Thanks for your help.
Hi, my recommendation would be Menorca. It's a nice short flight, just over 2 hours, which you'll appreciate with you little one sitting on your lap! We're going to Cala'n Bosch for the 2nd time this year with our children. It's a very child friendly place with plenty of nice restaurants and a marina to stroll around in the evenings. There are bars around the marina to sit and people watch (if your little one allows) and a couple of nice beaches too. I can't really say too much about the Algarve, have only visited there once and didn't really like the resort I went to and that has put me off going again. I have friends who have been to both and they say that they found Menorca more child friendly, but that's their opinion and I'm sure others can let you know if they think otherwise.
We have booked Cala n Bosch as it looks lovely. Seems to be enough going on without it being too much if you know what I mean. Its definately worth taking a look at this resort or Menorca in a whole.
Let us know what you decide x
Went to Menorca and Algarve last year with our daughter who was 14 months in Menorca and 18 months in Algarve (Vilamoura). Either will be fine.
I think we have decided on Cala n Bosch possibly the Paradise Apartments if we can get them as they get good reviews.
http://www.marhotels.com , the only problem with doing it this way is you can't book self catering only half board and it's very expensive. I booked our holiday last August through Direct and am so glad I did because availability looks really scarce now. Let us know how you get on.
Good choice Gill, that's where we are going in August! Have you managed to find any availability though for July? Don't know if you are aware but the only tour op you can book through is Direct Holidays and Airtours (now part of Thomas Cook). You can get them through some of the independent companies, Travel Republic do them I think and you can also book direct with the hotel on Post a Reply
