hi, was thinking of doing a 21 night holiday but i`m having problems finding flights. we have to fly from newcastle so there isn`t much choice..TCX are doing egypt my youngest has just told me he doesn`t want to go to egypt, so was thinking of tunisia.. does anyone know how i can find prices please
thanx
It depends on your destination but XL bring up prices for 21 days sometimes, don't know if they do Tunisa? It might be worth reading the Tunisia forum there is a lady in there called Aslemma who does a lot of DIY's to Tunisia.
i have read her stuff before, but i think she may be from the south, which i think makes it easier for flights...
I think you are right, somewhere near me. Do you have Excel or Monarch near you or perhaps one of the budgets like Easy or Ryan you might find they do non-standard durations. Is Jet-com (is that how they spell it?) any good for you, that's one we don't seem to get down here. You could try putting your dates into http://www.moneysupermarket.com and see what it finds for you.

Jet2.com fly out of Newcastle. Obviously, they serve other airports from which other low cost airlines (Ryanair, Monarch, etc) operate. There is a huge choice there for you. 21 nights - no problem. Surf http://www.jet2.com. http://www.ryanair.com INVALID URL
When you see the huge choice on offer, your problem will be Which One Will I take?
Hi Shazza, I would suggest you think about going d.i.y. if you want to go to Tunisia (which is almost my second home). I've given you the link to Cheap Flights, which will give you some ideas. Thomas Cook have one direct flight a week from Newcastle to Monastir so it shouldn't be a problem. Mind you, they are not my airline of choice as they only give you 15 kg of luggage + 5kg hand luggage, but as I prefer to fly from Stansted they are my only option. If you book accommodation through somewhere like Travel Republic (my personal choice), Med Hotels, Low Cost Beds or one of the other consolidators you can probably get a good deal. If you want a transfer, rather than grabbing a taxi, Med Hotels are very cheap - £2.02 p.p. each way to Sousse or Port El Kantaoui. You don't have to book the hotel through them to use the transfer service. I hope you find somewhere to suit you and your son and have a good holiday.
hubby has now decided 14 nights is enough, thomson fly on a sunday at 7.00am which is a good time to get to tunisia but its earliy coming back, is there any good places near monastir airport that we could go to??? just thinking if we go further the pick up time may be very early morning coming home......which we could do without...
Hi again Shazza. The nearest resort to Monastir is Skanes. The hotels are supposed to be quite good but there is not much in the area apart from other hotels. Sousse and Port El Kantaoui are about 30/40 minutes away. A taxi to the airport won't cost you any more than about 15 dinars (approx £6) and will save the very early pick up you may get if you have a transfer with the tour operator, which has to go all round the hotels. Hammamet is a much longer journey. I think that a fortnight may be better than 3 weeks if it is your first time in Tunisia. The first time I went it was only for a week and I have been going back twice a year ever since, but not everyone is as devoted to the place as I am. Come over to the Tunisia forum if you have any questions, or send me a PM if you think I can help. I'll be back there myself in 10 days time but I'm wondering if I'm going at the wrong time as I've just had a look at the weather forecast.
we were in tunisia in 2006 but didn`t think much of the hotel for the price we paid . it was in Skanes so transfer was good. will just have to keep looking..
Have a look at the Marhaba Beach in Sousse Shazza. I stayed there in October and it was very nice. You also have the use of the facilities at the other hotels in the complex, the Marhaba and the Marhaba Club.
