We would like to go to the Manavgat waterfall, but would that be a waste of time in winter.

Hi Marn and Mike..
No not at all in my opinion..the falls themselves should be quite nice and more impressive at this time of ther year due to higher water levels over the winter...if the day is nice ( and it most likely will be ) I would recommend a visit..

However do plan for the possibilites of colder temps...if you like nature walks and historicals areas then it is a lovely place to visit..try and get out to see some of the neaby areas as well..

Right now the weather in Turkey and even here in Antalya is very cold...check out this helpful weather site
Here is the forecast for Antalya for the next few days;

Bags all packed with winter woolies. It's going to be well below freezing over the Penines to Manchester in the early hour of tomorrow morning, so will be used to the cold when we arrive in Antalya. Just hope the weather improves as is predicted.
Will let you know all about it when we're back next week.

See you all soon,

 Marn.

Arrived at the Hotel Linda after an easy transfer from Antalya Airport. The hotel was full of Germans, and hardly any of the staff spoke English. Our room was a decent size and it overlooked the pool area and the mountains in the distance. The food was good, but getting a drink at the bar was a nightmare. The bar staff never smiled or acknowledged you, anyone would have thought we came from a different planet.
The weather was sunny every day, and the area around Titreyengol is beautiful. The Sorgun Forest is on your doorstep, with lots of pleasant walks. Titreyengol - wave lake - only has a few restaurants and shops, but a beautiful beach, which is lined with all the good hotels. The paths and roads are all being newly paved with bricks, so walking is easy. The main road into the center is currently being done, and when it is finished should be quite a feature, with, looks like, a waterway running full length in the middle of the road. It was very quiet at this time of year, and the only time I heard and English voice was in Antik Side.

Antik Side was like walking into the past - a wonderful place. So glad to have seen it.

Manavgat waterfall was OK, but, although the sun was shining, the trip up the river was was more than a little on the cool side. But we had taken some warm clothing with us, so didn't suffer too much.

We enjoyed our holiday, but would have like to have been able to speak with some English people.
WHY is it all Germans in that area? Don't the English companys know how beautiful it is.

What a homecoming we had, landed at Manchester to gale force winds, the M62 closed East bound, so we had to find another route back to Yorkshire over the moors - along with all the other motorway traffic. Then, just as I was going to bed. the earthquake struck.
Good to be back :rofl

Thats all for now, must do some shopping.

Marn.

So glad that you had a nice time and what a lovely follow up report...Cannot comment on the type of tourists that frequent these areas..however in the city of Antalya just the other day ( as I was taking photos ) I heard english being spoken..I think you will find that this is mostly the case in A/I hotels with package trips to Turkey..however you have now got a taste for thsi area and hope you return again and try another area on the entire antalya coastline..a lot of undiscovered places..

PS..you were lucky the weather was farily nice...

Here are the photos I was taking while I over heard some english ( possibly Canadian or American toursits by the accent)
