Woke this morning at about 7-30 to a "warmer" but slightly overcast day which did`nt last long as by about 9am there was`nt a cloud in the sky. The temperature is on the rise and although "muggy" it must have been 36c mid day! The dogs seem to have been "quieter" last night "possibly because its a touch warmer and they are not so energetic! The traffic seems to be on the increase daily here in Candolim - business as usual for most people - at least the sides of the roads are being sorted out "where the underground electric and broadband cable laying has been carried out" and we should soon see a much better road to Calangute and elsewhere with "footpaths".
The kingfisher as always visited our pool and the sight of the squirels running around was lovely. We had a visit from two large "Langur monkeys" yesturday and a large Mongoose in the afternoon.
Goa ( and India as a whole) is still an incredable adventure despite the " well deserved" poor reviews but, I for one awake every morning "pinching" myself when I realise how lucky I am to be in this beautiful country and their people.
This dos`nt meen that there is need for improvement (as there is) but in whose eyes!!
What a wonderful, positive, report about Goa. My husband and I plan to become 6-month "expats" from next year and I believe we will find it a privilege to live in such a wonderful place. I am not so stupid as to ignore some of the problems that exist out there, but am hopeful that all the positives will outweigh the negatives.
People must remember that there are plenty of negatives about living in the UK these days. In Goa I do not have to worry that I am spending over my income; worry about the gangs of "yoof" that make me feel old and vulnerable; etc etc.
Continue to have a great time out there - I can't wait to join the bandwagon.

I received a text from some Goan friends last night saying that it rained there Thursday (?) night - and they thought it might do again last night.
Unseasonal rain did fall for a short time in the area (mostly down South) - but none in candolim, its a bit less humid today - no rain and bright.
only seen rain once in 13 years in candolim and man the road was a river in 20 minutes walking down the main street in front of dona alcina it was like a tidal river running between the hotels
It rained one night in December when we were there, quite a lot too.
Oh how I miss being a manager for a tour operator.....
