I have booked to go to Alcudia in June for 2 weeks, what I would like to know are there any boats trips that I would be able to go on that are suitable for a wheelchair user? Someone from work told me they believe it's possible to go to Barcelona from Alcudia, is this true and if so how long would this journey take?
Many thanks,
Amy
Amy, you can go to Barcelona, it takes three hours or so on the fast ferry or eight on the slow one. You can also go to Menorca and there are the local boat trips that go across the bay of Alcudia and then out to Formentor. I would not have thought there was a problem for wheelchair users with any of them though for the local trips it might be wiser to embark and disembark at the pier in the port area rather than one of the other piers along the coast. Here are two links for the ferry operators. They may not have their summer timetables up yet though. Generally speaking, it's not a problem with getting a place on a ferry, so pre-booking shouldn't be necessary.
