Oh dear!
Being persuaded by a travel agent is not good. It's your holiday, you book where you want to go, not where they tell you.
Never been to Ipsos, but it sounds like a young peoples resort, with clubs, music bars ect.. As for the apartments, well you'll just have to see for yourself. If they are not to your liking then ask to be moved.
A few years ago we booked to go falaraki on Rhodes not knowing what the place was like. The place we were put in was awful and we asked to be moved - we were and were happy with the apartments. As for Falaraki itself, well we just made the most of our holiday, hired a car and went around the island, only sleeping in Falaraki.
If this was me, I would go back to the travel agents, cancel the holiday with them, but ask for alternatives (you may have to pay a cancellation fee??).
