We have one review Chris but they don't mention location. However, Olympic holidays reckon it's 6 mins to the beach and 5 to the restaurants etc.

The Dost apartments are kind of out of the way, but as Gumbet has grown up all round the bay now, they're not that far away from the shops, restaurants and bars. 10 minutes walk to the start of the main shops, restaurants, another 5 minutes or so to Bar Street (Hotel Baba etc), and also 10 minutes walk to the beach (15 minutes in total from the apartments to the beach at the hotel Baba).

The apartments aren't directly on the dolmus route to Bodrum etc, but a few minutes walk in either direction will take you to a dolmus route. They are within walking distance of the Oasis shopping centre too (about 10-15 minutes walk).

So i'm at the top of bar street with my back now to it, where or which way do i go.

Sure, no problem.

Okay, the more pleasant walk from the top of Bar Street to the Dost apartments (timewise its a bit longer than the couple of alternative routes).

Turn round and walk straight down Bar Street, then keep walking, past the Hotel Baba, past the Ayaz hotel, past the Parkim Palais. This takes you to the Sami Plaza hotel, which is a big hotel, built in 2000 or thereabouts. Walk along the road the whole length of the Sami Plaza hotel (you'll see the Atlantis bar across the road). Keep walking (straight across the road at the junction where the Sami Plaza ends) you'll pass the Red Dragon chinese restaurant on your left, and further along the Millenium restaurant on your right. Near this restaurant there is a junction, you'll have Mr Horribles bar on your right (right on the corner of the street). Turn right at Mr Horribles bar, and walk straight along that road right to the end (you'll pass the Ali Baba hotel on the right hand side near the end of the road). At the end of this road, turn left, and a couple of minutes walk, you'll see the Dost apartments on your right.

You can also, from the top of Bar Street, go another couple of ways, which would be quicker, but not as well lit (so not something I would recommend late at night). The dolmus which goes through Gumbet and on to Bodrum stops not far from the Dost apartments - you would get off at the Dost hotel, and walk down the road between the 2 buildings there. The Dost apartments would be about 5 minutes walk down to your left from the Dost hotel.

About 15 minutes walk, that would take you to the Sun Club/Beach Club (bottom of old Bar Street).

i was last in bodrum/gumber 5 years ago.

we stayed at the sunshine apts, which is right on the top of the hill between bodrum/ gumbet.
