We were in Benidorm from Dec.2-9 in 2007 and the weather was superb.
There were blue ,cloudless skies all day and we were in t shirts. Admittedly it did turn cold in the evening but not as bad as we had expected. (I know it doesn't follow it will be the same).
We are in the same age group as your parents and found plenty of evening entertainment
We stayed at the Nereo which is not far from the Sol Pelicanos.
One place we liked was the Clansman Bar with good entertainment and we enjoyed the Town Cabaret Bar.

Hi lady scorpio me and my partner were there in the first week in december 2007 and like lincolnsue says the weather was great , infact it was better than great
