I think men have to wear long trousers and shoes for the evening meals.

Hi greek kitty. I've not stayed at a Riu in the DR, but have stayed at a Riu in Jamaica and men had to wear long trousers to go in the a' la cartes. So far as ladies, yes it is just a general summer dress vibe. We stayed at Sunscapes in the DR and they were really strict about the men rules but let women in wearing whatever (which I had to laugh at really
)
Hope that helps, any more questions just ask

Hi, we stayed at the Riu Bachata last summer, it was fine for ment to wear dress shorts in the evening, but they had to wear a top with sleeves in, no vest tops (short sleeved tops ok) For ladies I just took a few nice dresses not to fancy, just something comfortable, and skirts and tops.
Hope this helps.
