hello all
some of you may know that the wife and me love the town of pomorie
we are going again (year 4 to pomorie) in sept
and as she is watching some rubbish on sky tv i thought
how about asking you experts for ideas of places we could visit on the bus (service bus)
we have gone from pomorie to nessebur/sunny beach and also in years past golden sands to varna
but i think we are now both brave enough to broaden our horizons
so where can we go
either from pomorie,sunny beach or bourgas
this is with a change of train at Karnobat on return journey. Now the cost. 8.50 Lev each return. Cheers. F.V.
looks good APART from the MARKET bit (how much will the gaffer spend there)
still worth a think do we get the tickets on the train or at an office do they do returns?
happy
where do i find the english timetables for the trains
Here, remember to look for 'Burgas', not 'Bourgas' and 'Jambol', not 'Yambol'. The train fares are available on the website, after you select your train, various permutations of single/return fares & classes will be shown. Summer timetables are not yet available.
There's also a Bulgarian timetable for minibus Express services here, look for 'ÛïâÃÂÂÂÞ àÃÂÂÂÃÂâ€â€ÃƒÂŸÃ˜áÃÂÂÂÃÂÂÂØÕ' (Summer timetable) halfway down the page - Þт ÃÂ'урóðÑÂÂ-ÃÂÂÂòтþóðрð "îó" is 'From Burgas South Bus Station' and Þт ÃÂ'урóðÑÂÂ-ÃÂÂÂòтþóðрð "ÃÂâ€â€ÃƒÂ°Ã¿Ã°Ã´" is 'From Burgas West Bus Station'.

which train station do i need as there seems to be more than one in bourgas
or 'realway station', as the map describes it) is near the South bus station - see near the bottom of this Burgas Map.
If you mean the references to, e.g. 'Burgas razpredelitelna'/'Burgas tovarna', 'razpredelitelna' means 'dispersal'/'distribution', while 'tovarna' means 'goods'/'freight', so they appear to refer to marshalling yards, etc., rather than passenger travel.

The main, possibly only, railway station (If you mean the references to, e.g. 'Burgas razpredelitelna'/'Burgas tovarna', 'razpredelitelna' means 'dispersal'/'distribution', while 'tovarna' means 'goods'/'freight', so they appear to refer to marshalling yards, etc., rather than passenger travel.

Happymackem, if you go onto timetable site, just click in the two stations, when times come up select any one, then under the train no; you will find the list of stations on route, this was handy for me, as I printed off my journey and ticked them as I went, and when you think 50% did not have names up, it helped. I cannot vouch for Burgas, but both at Varna and Dobrich you purchase tickets at ticket office before boarding. Tonyt
yep thats what confused me baldur
and thanks too tonyt
saves any confusion will look for ticket office
I've just found the website of Burgas Bus Stations, which gives extensive destinations & timetables BUT unfortunately the site is encoded in Windows-1251 (Accented Cyrillic) fonts, so appears to be gibberish until decoded into a legible Cyrillic font, e.g with this tool.
When run through the decoder, Àâòîãàðà"ÞÃ" = ÃÂÂÂòтþóðрð "îÓ" (Bus Station "South") & Àâòîãàðà"ÇÀÃÂÂÀÄ" = ÃÂÂÂòтþóðрð "ÃÂâ€â€ÃƒÂÂÂßÃÂÂÂÃÂâ€Â" (Bus Station "West"); ÃÂÂàçïèñàÃÂÂèå = àð÷ÿøÑÂÂðýøõ (Timetable), etc.
Destination examples:
Àõòîïîë = ÃÂÂÂÑ!тþÿþû (Ahtopol)
Öàðåâî = æðрõòþ (Tsarevo)
Êèòåà= Úøтõý (Kiten)
ÃÂÂðèìîðñêî = ßрøüþрÑÂÂúþ (Primorsko)
Ãâ€â€ÃƒÆ’¥Ã°ÃÂÂîìîðåö = çõрýþüþрõц(Chernomorets)
Ã'îçîïîë = áþ÷þÿþû (Sozopol)
Ã'ëúÃÂÂ÷åâ áðÿã = áûъýчõò ñрÑÂÂó (Slanchev Bryag/Sunny Beach)
ÂàðÃÂÂà= ÃÂ'ðрýð (Varna)
ßìáîë = ïüñþû (Yambol/Jambol)
Ìàëêî òúðÃÂÂîâî = ÃÂœðûúþ търýþòþ (Malko Tarnovo)
Êàáëåøêîâî = Úðñûõшúþòþ (Kableshkovo)
Âåëèêî òúðÃÂÂîâî = ÃÂ'õûøúþ търýþòþ (Veliko Tarnovo) and so on..............
ÃŒÃ!ÆÄÓÃÂÂÀÃÂÂÎÄÃÂÂÈÀÂÃ'ÃŽÃÂÂÓÃ'È= ÃÂœÕÖÃÂâ€ÂãÃÂÂÂÃÂÂÂàÞÃÂâ€ÂÃÂÂÂÃÂËœ ÃÂÂÂÃÂ'âÞÃÂ'ãáÃÂËœ (International Buses)
Hope this helps.
Baldur
