You have to clear customs at the first point of entry to a country - so theoretically at least you should get bags tagged through to Sao Paolo and not need to see them before "landing" in Brazil. (you won't technically arrive in Spain as you will be in transit) Collect Bags in SP & clear Brazilian customs and then have them tagged all the way through on TAM via Rio to Belo Horizonte on your 2 domestic flights. However as you will have seperate flight coupons for your last leg you may need to specifically point this out at SP in order to get bags tagged through.

After many years in the airline business, personally I prefer to see my bags as often as possible however as at least you know where to start looking when they don't turn up with you are your final destination!! :whoops
