Thanks. Will do that. Just hoping its not OAP land at this time of year (no disrespect but my 20 year old will just moan if that's what it is) and im sick of people telling me it will be all bingo and tea dances!

I'll let you know how Poseidon was when we get back

the black chicken (cheap drink and karaoke) or the western saloon bar across the road from the black chicken are good for entertainment jack , and the age group is mixed , i was there this time last year and it was ok (for a 43 year auld git) like me . just ask around if you dont know where they are.

As it is Easter weekend, I think there should be lots of Families there. Karen

Walk along Calle Gerona from one end to the other, this is where most of the entertainment bars are situated, you'll be able to see what acts are on as you are walking past, pop in have a drink, and if you dont like it you are only a few yards away from another bar.

Thanks folks. Where is Calle Gerona by the way. Is it easy to find? I think the poseidon complex is near the old town

Hi Jacki ... the Poseidon Complex comprises of the Hotel Poseidon which has an entrance on Calle Esperanto (almost opposite the junction with Calle Gerona), and the Hotel Poseidon Palace which has an entrance on Via Emilio Ortuno.

If you use the links on the right hand side of THIS page of the hotel group website, you can view a map of the area. (Ignore Hotel Poseidon Playa, which is in a different part of the resort).

Calle Gerona is a long road and the further you walk at night, the busier it will become and the more bars you will find.

As you say, you are close to the Old Town too and one of the bars in that direction which you may like is the Pig & Whistle, not too far to walk from the Poseidon.

Make sure that you do explore the Old Town by day, especially up around the area of the chapel and viewpoint.

If you ever lose your bearings, look out for the Hotel Madeiro Centro which is also on Calle Esperanto just a few doors away from the Poseidon, and towers over that area of town.

Hi Folks

Had a fab time and will definitely be back!! The Poseidon was really nice. The staff were very helpful and we found the rooms to be spacious and modern and spotlessly clean. The food was ok too. Obviously not five star but plenty of variety and all very tasty. We ended up in the English square a couple of the nights and had a ball - keeping up with my 20 year old is do-able for 3 days but only just :) Weather was fab on the beach in a bikini every day. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Thanks for all your help folks
