You would think the authorities and the locals would get the message, before it's too late and they loose out altogether.

The Goa Tourism Minister has said that his ministry will undertake an exercise to identify beach and shack areas popular among tourists and relax music timings in those localities.....Woo Hoo Bring it on!!!

Provided that shacks do play music at a level which is only audible withing the confines of the shack or the immediate area, I do not see why anyone would object. I have doubts however, as to what noise levels some of the shacks will produce. There are a couple of shacks on one stretch of Candolim beach who seem to feel that playing music at a high volume will attract customers. In fact it is often the opposite. I do not see why shacks should not be permitted to play music up to say midnight, but I do not expect such a fuzzy unclear rule as they propose to work. But a bit of common sense at last. If they are not careful Goa may become popular once again.

Couldn't agree more! I sat in silence in the shacks last season at 10.05pm...

But any shack that plays music sooo loud that I cannot have a good conversation with my friends will lose my business.

However, I am pleased as punch that they may possibly be allowed to play till late now.

Lets hope they can find a happy medium

im not bothered if they turn the music off at 10 pm as long as i can keep on drinking till ive had enough ,and in boscos you normally can
